How to navigate data

Overview

There are two ways of navigating Quix data streams: by location and by topic. Location is a hierarchical view, reflecting the location each stream has been assigned. The Topics view displays streams grouped according to their topic.

You can assign a stream location via our API or our SDK.

Before you begin

  1. You’ll need to have created at least one data stream to be able to view. The more streams you’ve created, the more useful knowing how to navigate between them will be.

Navigate the data hierarchy

  1. Go to the platform home.

  2. Choose a workspace, and OPEN it.

  3. Click the Data icon data icon in the left-hand menu.

  4. By default, you should see the Locations view. Use the left hand context pane to click down through the location tree to find the streams you are looking for. The list of streams will include all streams at and below the current location.

Navigate data by topic

  1. Go to the platform home.

  2. Choose a workspace, and OPEN it.

  3. Click the Data icon data icon in the left-hand menu.

  4. Click on the Topics tab near the top of the page, to view data streams by topic.

  5. Use the left hand list to select the topic you want to view. Only streams within that topic are shown.
